What TV shows are you most excited about coming back brand new? Bones, House, American Idol (Lorrie, Chuck)? How about 24! I know I always enjoy when 24 is back with new episodes, not only because of Jack, but I go to my neighbors house for the 24 viewing party! We have been having 24 parties for the past 3 or 4 seasons at least. We even had a 24 marathon but that only took like 23 hours to watch one season. Happy watching whatever you tune into this season.

No, its not another name change for the Lakeland campus of the University of South Florida. On January 24th, USF Polytechnic will host more than 100 high-school students in a Tech Challenge regional qualifying competition. The event is sponsored by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders. Student teams build robots to perform select tasks, then compete against each other in qualifying competitions toward a state championship.
This years competition includes teams from Lakeland, Winter Haven, Miami, Odessa, Palm Bay, Jensen Beach, Largo, Wilton Manors and New Smyrna Beach. The public is invited. The opening ceremony starts at 10 am, and qualifying rounds continue until the awards ceremony at 3:15 pm. For additional information contact Kathy Sebeny at (863) 667-7059 or ksebeny@poly.usf.edu
